So last week I had installed the Ubuntu and for that I had created a bootable USB. After I successfully installed the OS I was trying to format the USB and was getting the error "Error Formatting Volume".
So in this post I am going to show how you can format the USB in case you faced the same issue in any Linux flavor.
So we will be using the "Disks" utility to fix the problem. If you are using Gnome or Unity, press "Super + A" and search for Disks.
In the Disks application, select your USB disk. Be very sure that you have selected the USB disk you wish to format. From the top right menu, select Format Disk option or press "Ctrl + F".
After selecting the Format disk options, please select the below options and click "Format" and as usual you will get warning about losing the data and just click Format.
Once formatted, you’ll see your disk with entire free space.
After that create the partition of the entire free space and format it to whichever file system you want and once done it will be immediately mounted.
I hope my post was helpful to fix the issue. Please share if you liked my article.
